An ERP that understands how jewellery is actually made
Metal, stones, artisan job work, stock and sales in one system, designed around the way the trade actually works.
The problem
Off-the-shelf ERPs have no idea what metal loss is, how stone lots work or what happens when gold goes out to a karigar and comes back as a finished piece. So jewellers run the real business on paper and spreadsheets next to software that doesn't fit.
How we went about it
- 1We mapped the real workflow first: metal issued and received, stones set, pieces certified, pieces sold.
- 2That became a proper relational model of more than 25 tables covering metal, stones, job work, stock and customers.
- 3We built a clickable React prototype so people in the trade can try the flows before any production code is written.
What we built
- Metal and stone stock with lot tracking
- Job work issued to and received from artisans, with weight reconciliation
- A product catalogue that holds certification details
- Sales, customer and reporting screens
Where it landed
The data model and a working prototype are done, which means the production build starts from flows people have already clicked through rather than from a requirements document.
